Girl dies of suspected dengue

Soundariya, 17, of Chinnampalli in Pennagaram, died of suspected dengue at the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital (DGMCH) on Saturday. She had contracted fever a week ago and was taken to the Chinnampalli Primary Health Centre and later to the Pennagaram Taluk Hospital, where she was diagnosed with dengue.

According to sources, after being treated at DGMCH and Salem hospital, she was discharged and brought home on Saturday.

However, she had fever again on Saturday night and was rushed to DGMCH. But she died before admission.
