Girivalam path to be widened

Work will be executed at a cost of Rs.65 crore

The Girivalam path around the Annamalai Hills here would be widened at a cost of Rs.65 crore, and the connected works will be taken up soon, according to Mukkoor N. Subramanian, Minister for Information and Technology.

Speaking at a function in which he distributed free fans, mixies and grinders to 791 people in the 23rd ward of Tiruvannamalai Municipality here on Saturday, Mr. Subramanian said that the Girivalam path is to be widened as per the announcement made by then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the Assembly under rule 110 of the Assembly Rules.

The IT Minister said that the state government is getting a revenue of Rs. 26 crore every month from the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (ACTC).

Thanks to the government take-over of cable TV operations through ACTC. A. Gnanasekharan, Collector of Tiruvannamalai presided. R. Vanaroja, Tiruvannamalai MP, A.K. Aranganathan, Kilpennathur MLA, N. Balachandran, Municipal Chairman, Tiruvannamalai and Parveena Sultan, Municipal Commissioner, Tiruvannamalai participated in the function.
