Gang rape case judgment appropriate, says Karunanidhi

September 14, 2013 03:48 am | Updated November 27, 2021 06:54 pm IST - CHENNAI:

DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Friday said though he had a different stand on capital punishment, he was of the opinion that the Delhi trial court had delivered an appropriate judgment in the gang rape case.

Talking to reporters at Anna Arivalayam, he refused to comment on the BJP’s decision to name Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.

“Tell me the opinion of BJP leader L.K. Advani first. You can ask for my view later,” he said.

Mr. Karunanidhi said the DMK would not back down on its stand against communalism.
