A gang of six broke into a house and took away valuables and money worth Rs. 6 lakh in Rajarajeshwari Nagar early on Saturday.

Police sources said that Raja Gopal and his family were sleeping when the thieves, who had covered their faces with handkerchiefs, broke open the lock of the back door and entered the house.

The police said that the gang threatened the women in the house with a knife.
