The Gandhigram Trust has set up a Gandhi-King Centre to promote peace and justice. The Gandhi Centre at Atlanta in the U.S. will extend support to the centre at Gandhigram.

Trust secretary K. Siva Kumar said the centre would translate the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. into action by organising training programmes for youth, students and women on non-violent social action for peace and justice. It would have an exhibition and library on the life and message of the two great leaders.

“The centre will have international collaboration. We have received support from the Gandhi Centre at Atlanta for our efforts. The U.S. Embassy has helped us in organising the exhibition on Martin Luther King, ” Mr. Kumar said.
