May 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:04 am IST - TIRUNELVELI:

Volunteers of Annai Theresa Trust and a few social activists joined hands to mobilise funds and relief materials for the earthquake victims of Nepal, here on Wednesday.

After Mayor E. Bhuvaneshwari and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli, C.P. Kandasamy formally inaugurated the mobilisation drive, a group of volunteers and social activists, including Rev. Fr. Antony A. Cruz, builder T.T. Ramesh Raja, D.A. Prabhakar of Indian Red Cross Society, and others continued the exercise on S.N. High Road and at Tirunelveli Junction.

“The response (from the traders and the public) was overwhelming. While some of the traders contributed liberally, some others donated in the form of relief materials, which will be forwarded to the affected population through the Indian Red Cross Society,” said Rev. Fr. Antony A. Cruz.
