Fumigate to prevent dengue, tells Collector

As part of the drive to eradicate dengue the district administration has granted permission to the local bodies such as the municipalities, town panchayats, panchayat unions and the village panchayats to engage ‘mazdoors’ on a daily basis and also acquire fumigation instruments.

Collector V. Sampath made this revelation at the official meeting held here on Wednesday to review the preventive and curative measures to be taken across the district.

He called upon the local bodies to periodically clean and chlorinate the over head tanks and fumigate the mosquito breeding areas.

Mr. Sampath insisted upon the local bodies to undertake mass cleaning operation in their respective areas in right earnest.

The medical staff ought to conduct the Elisa test on those afflicted with the ailment and collect the data for the purpose of documentation, the Collector said.
