The State government has ordered that vaccines for A (H1N1) be administered free of cost to those belonging to below poverty line (BPL).

Disclosing this in a statement on Friday, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said the vaccines would be administered at government hospitals in district headquarters.

He pointed out that the A(H1N1) vaccination camp was recently launched at the King Institute of Preventive Medicine. The Union government had supplied the medicine to the State government.

Mr Karunanidhi said the State Health Department, government hospitals and primary health centres were functioning very well.

But, those who did not have any concern for the welfare of the State were finding fault with welfare schemes and seeking to create scare.
