Four poachers held for killing wild boar

A team of forest department officials nabbed them before they cooked the meat

Four persons were arrested on a charge of killing a wild boar at Gundupatti village on upper Kodaikanal hill on Sunday. The arrested were P. Chinnavar (37), his brother P. Ravi (27), P. Chandra Bose (35) and B. Sathish Kumar (21), all from Gundupatti village in Kookal panchayat. The officials said the four trapped a wild boar in a patta land and killed it. When they tried to cook the meat, a forest team from Poomparai caught them and seized the meat. A case has been registered.
