April 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - DINDIGUL:

Four minor boys slit the throat of a sixth standard student at Thennampatti after he could not pay them the money they demanded, on Friday evening.

The injured, P. Muthappan (12) of Seethampatti near Vadamadurai was admitted to Dindigul Government Hospital here on Friday evening.

In a complaint lodged with the police, his father Palanisamy alleged that four students intercepted Muthappan while he was returning home from a government higher secondary school and demanded money.

When he told that that he did not have any money, they snatched his bus pass and ran away. When he tried to chase them, three students held him firmly and another student cut his throat with a blade. Later, they fled.

With heavy bleeding, Muthappan ran back to school and informed the school authorities. They admitted him to a private hospital. After first aid, they sent the boy home. When he reached home, blood started oozing out. Again, the parents brought him to Dindigul GH.

Further investigation is on.
