Four persons, including two women, were killed in three accidents in the district on Thursday night.
Police said that Suresh (20) of Panagudi was going towards Anjugramam on a motorcycle with his friends V. Kannan (19) and M. Venkatesh (17) on Thursday evening. At Chidambarapuram, Suresh lost control over his vehicle and hit the two-wheeler of Lingasamy (45) of Ooralvaimozhi near Koodankulam, in which all the four sustained injuries.
While Kannan died on the spot, Suresh, Venkatesh and Lingasamy were admitted to Kanyakumari Medical College Hospital at Asaripallam where Lingasamy died on Thursday night. Pazhavoor police have registered a case.
In the second accident, M. Rajalakshmi (45) of Karisalur near Paavoorchathram, who was injured in a road accident along with her husband Murugesan (45), died in Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital on Thursday night. Murugesan had died on the spot.
In the third accident, P. Kalaiselvi (37) of Royagiri under Sivagiri police station limits was knocked down by a speeding motorcycle on Thursday evening.
She was admitted to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital where she died in the small hours of Friday. Sivagiri police have registered a case.
