Four fishermen, who were stranded at mid sea after their boat developed an engine snag, were rescued by the Coastal Security Group personnel on Saturday.

According to A. Makhesh, Inspector of Police, Coastal Security Group, the fishermen T. Vijayakanth (27), P. Panchanathan (34), T. Velu (22) and B. Pazhaniselvam (19) ventured out into sea about 1 a.m. from Therku Pudukudi village. They were stranded in the mid sea a couple of hours later, following some snag in the engine of their boat.
