Four denied bail in university building collapse case

The Principal District and Sessions Court here on Wednesday dismissed bail petitions of the four persons who were arrested in connection with collapse of an under construction building at Central University campus here a few days ago in which five construction workers died.

The four persons, Anand, general manager of the construction company, Prabhu, site engineer, Satish Kumar, quality engineer, and Ayyanar, labour contractor, were arrested by the police on Sunday.

The arrested persons had applied for bail in the Principal District and Sessions Court here. When the petitions came up for hearing on Wednesday, Principal District and Sessions Judge A. Zakir Hussain dismissed them as investigation was going on in the case.
