Four bodies found in Kalyanavodai canal

Four bodies of a woman and three girls were found along side the Kalyanavodai canal at Soorakottai near Thanjavur on Saturday.

The body of the nearly 30 year-old- woman was tied with a rope to other three girls aged between three to six. Identity of the bodies are yet to ascertained.

According to the police, the woman with the three girls tied to her waist might have jumped into the river and some place and the bodies were washed ashore at Soorakottai. The woman is pregnant.

On receiving information, Vallam Deputy Superintendent of Police Vasundhara and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital. Police are investigating.
