Foundation stone laid for industrial training institute

Minister for Industries P. Thangamani laid the foundation stone for Government Industrial Training Institute for Women to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.30 crore at Rasampalayam in Keerambur Panchayat here recently.

The Department of Labour and Employment of the State government has sanctioned funds for the new building that would be constructed by the Public Works Department. The programme was held in the presence of District Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy, P.R. Sundaram MP, MLAs K.P.P. Baskar, V. Thaniyarasu and others.

Also, under the Infrastructure Gap Filling Fund, drinking water pipelines would be replaced in Venkarai Panchayat at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh and an integrated sanitary complex would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 13 lakh in Kupichipalayam.

Pathway

Foundation stone was also laid for the construction of pedestrian pathway near the damaged bridge in Venkarai at a cost of Rs. 6.50 lakh.
