Demanding the immediate commissioning of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) the Tamil Nadu Kshatriya Nadar Iyakkam has proposed to organise a fast at Palayamkottai on Saturday in which leaders from various communities are likely to participate.

In a statement, founder president of the movement R. Chandran Jeyapaul said the State and the Central Governments, following the apprehensions expressed by the locals, had formed panels to allay their fears on scientific basis. However, those who were protesting against the nuclear power project were still continuing their false propaganda among the locals and creating panic.

Moreover, the protestors, in the guise of raising their doubts in the memorandum submitted to the Central Expert Panel, had demanded the entire details pertaining to the inter-governmental agreement between India and Russia and also highly classified information.

Demand

“It clearly shows that the ongoing agitation is by a group of people, who have fallen prey to the forces outside the country. Hence, we, demanding the immediate commissioning of the KKNPP, will observe a fast in Palayamkottai on Saturday in which leaders from various communities will participate,” Mr. Chandran Jayapaul said.
