The seminar on ‘Fashion Forecast Spring/Summer -2011', organised by the Apparel Export Promotion Council here on Monday, reiterated the need for holistic value-addition to enhance the share of Tirupur knitwear products in the world apparel market.

Delphine Lonjou, an eminent fashion consultant based in France, explained how the casual wears would be moving to lounge wear as people wanted to look more elegant instead of always being in sporty outfits.

She also elucidated how the trends in printed attire would be complimenting the plain apparels.

The emergence of ethnic designs was also explained with the help of slides to the participants.

A 30-minute film was screened to showcase new products, designs, fabrics and colours. Representatives of industrial associations, market consultants and fashion designers attended the event.
