AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa offered floral tributes to the freedom fighter and former Chief Minister, K. Kamaraj, on the occasion of his 112 birth anniversary here on Tuesday.

Ms. Jayalalithaa garlanded his portrait kept at the pedestal of the Kamaraj statue on the Kamaraj Salai. Senior ministers and officials participated in the programme.

Senior Congress leaders, including TNCC president B.S. Gnanadesikan; the former TNCC president, Kumari Ananthan; and the former Union Ministers, G.K. Vasan, E.V.K.S. Elangovan and S. Thirunavukkarasar, paid floral tributes to the late leader at Sathyamurthy Bhavan, the party headquarters.

The birth anniversary was celebrated in a simple manner in various districts.
