Floral tributes paid to MGR

People paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister late M.G. Ramachandran on his birth anniversary on Saturday.

Leaders of political parties and different organisations garlanded his portraits placed at various spots in the city. In villages, people offered worship by performing arathis to portraits. The AIADMK cadre organised pujas at the Arulmigu Rajaganapathi Temple.

Partymen led by M. K. Selvaraj, MLA, and urban district secretary of the party, came in a procession and paid floral tribute to the portrait of MGR near Periyar statue.

V. Panneerselvam, MP, S. Soundappan, Mayor, G. Venkatachalam, MLA, members of various wings of the party also participated in the event.
