A fish-cleaning and cutting machine developed by Mechanical Engineering students of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) was adjudged the best at the CII YI (Confederation of Indian Industry - Young Indians) Start-Up Challenge conducted at the national-level at Bengaluru recently. The first-prize for the project titled ‘Fish C’ came with Rs. 1 lakh cash component.

The competition was meant to support students intending to launch new ventures on the ‘YuStart’ platform conceptualised as a launch-pad for budding entrepreneurs. According to the winning team, the machine converts raw fish into ‘ready to fry’ fillets.
