FIR registered against Sun TV CEO

The Guindy police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Hansraj Saxena, Chief Executive Officer of Sun TV, and 30 others based on a complaint lodged by Sowmithiri Dharmasenan.

According to police sources, the case was registered under various provisions of the IPC, including 148 (rioting with deadly weapons), 323 (causing hurt), 395 (dacoity), 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Harassment of Women Act.

Hotel attacked

In another incident, an armed gang allegedly attacked Hotel Checkers on the Anna Salai here on Tuesday night damaging glass doors and some cars.

In a complaint lodged with the Guindy police, deputy-manager of the hotel, D. Chandrasekhar said one Sadik and more than 100 persons attacked the hotel. Some employees who tried to intervene were also attacked.

The accused persons, he alleged, took away Rs. 2.6 lakh cash from the cash box. The incident caused a loss of Rs. 25 lakh to the hotel, the complaint said.

Four persons have been arrested.
