The Tamil Nadu Medical Officers Association has urged the state government to take steps to fill the posts of doctors and health professionals to ensure quality healthcare delivery to the masses.
A resolution, adopted to this effect at state general body meeting of the Association held here on Monday, said that the doctors posts were lying vacant in Public Health Department .
The filling up of these posts was all the more necessary for effective implementation of anti-dengue activities and other public health schemes.
J. Kathirvel, state treasurer, who spoke on the occasion, urged the state government not to implement NEET(National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for under graduate.
He also said that the emoluments for doctors in public health be enhanced taking into consideration additional responsibilities particularly field inspection.
