Urging the Central and Chhattisgarh governments to take effective steps to secure the release of abducted Collector Alex Paul Menon, some of his schoolmates, Facebook friends and well-wishers observed a fast at Jawahar Grounds in Palayamkottai on Sunday.

Diabetologist Prema Chandran inaugurated the protest in which Tirunelveli Bar Association president Muthuramalingam, councillor Kumar, among others, participated.

A couple of teachers from Rose Mary Matriculation Higher Secondary School where Mr. Alex studied also participated in the agitation.
