According to sources, Vigneswaran (37), a farmer from Irungur village near Cheyyar had brought 10 bags of paddy a few days ago to the DPC in Puliyarambakkam village . Even after a few days, he could not sell the paddy. Moreover, he brought in 100 more bags of paddy on Tuesday night to the centre. He was asked to wait again. As his demand was not met, he doused himself with petrol and threatened to set fire to himself. Police rushed to the spot and took him away.
