Farm workers’ agitation on March 3

January 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - DINDIGUL:

The Tamil Nadu Farm Labourers’ Association (TNFLA) will lay siege to all taluk offices in the district on March 3, condemning the inordinate delay in distribution of house pattas to genuine beneficiaries, according to Association district secretary T. Gunasekaran

Talking to press persons here on Monday, he said house pattas were not given to several beneficiaries. Hundreds of poor people had been living on poromboke lands in Palani, Oddanchatram, Nilakottai, Vedasandur and Dindigul east and west taluks.

“We have given petitions seeking pattas to 1,458 beneficiaries. No action has been initiated so far. If the district administration fails to issue pattas before February-end, the association members will lay siege to the taluk offices,” he added.
