Fake certificate racket: six held

Police have arrested six persons for allegedly using fake certificates for securing government jobs.

The police said that a few job-seekers, after obtaining fake disability certificate and national identity cards meant for the physically challenged from a four-member gang, had secured government jobs.

The issue came to light when the police arrested the four recently based on a complaint lodged by a doctor at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Based on their confession, the police arrested Sudalai (44) of Sengulam, Kannan (40) of Ayyaneri, Muthumanickam (35) of Thirukkurunkudi, Subramanian (26) of Puliyangudi, Meenakshisundaram (38) of Kallidaikurichi and Mariappan (33) of Karambai, who got appointments in various town panchayat offices as sanitary workers.
