Cyber security experts attached to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Thiruvananthapuram, on Tuesday seized a server of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) as part of the investigation into allegations of irregularities in recruitments, police sources said.

Even as the DVAC commenced searches at 42 places across the State targeting middlemen who allegedly helped candidates in various recruitments, CDAC engineers took possession of the hard disks to check alleged tampering with Optical Mark Recognition sheets and other data.

CDAC team seized six hard discs and one server in the presence of the Investigation Officer S.M. Mohamed Iqbal. After analysing the gadgets in the forensic laboratory, the CDAC will give a report on its findings.

On Tuesday, after conducting searches on the premises of the TNPSC Chairman, Members and several officials the agency commenced a day-long search on the premises of suspected middlemen and others in Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Sivaganga and 10 other places.

A private training academy, which registered students for preparing for IAS/IPS/IFS and Group I examinations was raided in DRO Colony, Madurai. In Erode, a search was conducted in the residence of former MLA U.P. Mathaian at Moolapalayam. The team, seized a number of documents including interview call letters of nine candidates, photo copies of hall tickets and recommendation letters.
