Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M. Karunanidhi, on Tuesday, described as a “lie” the contents of a tape released by the Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan, claiming that Sharad Kumar Reddy, managing director of Kalaignar TV, tampered with documents to cover up the trail of money routed to the channel.
“Everything is lie,” he told presspersons here.
The conversation between Jaffar Sait, the then Additional Director-General of Police (Intelligence), and Mr. Reddy was first published by the whistleblower-website Savukku.
Mr. Reddy met Ms. Kanimozhi, who was discharged from a private hospital on Monday.
When told there were allegations against him, Mr. Karunanidhi wondered if presspersons would go to the residence of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and ask her about the case related to amassing wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income.
