January 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - PALANI:

From now on, pilgrims can book through online for taking part in golden rath procession as the temple administration has opened a separate portal for this purpose, according to HR&CE Minister R. Kamaraj.

Launching the e-ticketing facility at winch station and rope car station at Sri Dhandayuthapaniswami Temple in Palani and inaugurating the portal meant for booking golden rath procession here on Friday, the Minister said that this facility will help pilgrims from any part of the country to book in advance for drawing the car.

They will also know the availability, date and time of procession.

The facility of e-ticketing at rope car and winch stations will speed up distribution of tickets to pilgrims and avoid pilgrims waiting unnecessarily in a long queue for buying tickets to go to hill temple. Accounting at the end of the day will also be done quickly.
