A centre for value-addition to ragi must be established at Thalavadi where the commodity is the mainstay of cultivation by the farming community, Bhavani Sagar MLA P.L. Sundaram, has appealed in a representation presented to the Government authorities.
Mooting utilisation of the special funding provided for development of Thalavadi, Mr. Sundaram said the Centre in the control of Agriculture Department must be mandated with the task of adding value to the commodity, which, he pointed out, has higher nutrient value owing to avoidance of chemicals and pesticides.
