The district administration has asked entrepreneurs to be part of the Integrated Textile Parks that were planned in the district.

A consultative meeting to discuss the measures for implementing the parks was held at Collectorate on Thursday.

Collector M. Asia Mariam said that Chief Minister Jayalalitha had on September 1, 2015 announced in the Assembly that parks would be established in Namakkal district and financial support of up to Rs. 2.50 crore would be extended to the entrepreneurs who come forward for setting up the parks.

She had said that weaving was a major activity being carried out in Pallipalayam, Kumarapalayam, Tiruchengodu and Rasipuram as thousands of people are dependent on it. Entrepreneurs should come forward for setting up the textile parks in the district, she added. The Department of Handloom and Textile would help in establishing the parks, she added.

Joint Director of Handloom and Textile M. Muthusamy, handloom officer P. Sundarashivaji and entrepreneurs participated.
