The finals of elocution competition on voter awareness for college students will be held at the Collectorate here on January 22.
On account of the National Voters’ Day, which falls on January 25, elocution competitions at various levels had already been conducted for students in various colleges across the district.
Many awareness programmes involving students were scheduled to be held. On the National Voters Day here, voter identity cards would be issued for the new applicants as per the summary draft electoral rolls released finally, Collector M. Ravikumar said in a statement here on Wednesday. Special camps for change of address of electors would be held on the occasion in all polling booths and the needy could obtain Form -7 and submit the filled-in forms to booth-level officers deputed in the booths from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the statement added.
