Eleven nominations filed in Tirunelveli district

Eleven more candidates filed their nominations for six constituencies in the district on Tuesday to take the total number of candidates so far to 33.

On behalf of Communist Party of India (Marxist) P. Karpagavalli filed her nomination for Ambasamudram constituency while K.A. Malliga filed her nomination as ‘dummy candidate’.

In Kadayanallur, Z. Janafar Ali of Sankarankovil, S. Raja Maravan of Chokkampatti and P. Mohamed Abdul Rehman of Aanaikulam filed their nominations and A. Maharajan of Keezha Vallanaadu in Thoothukudi district and S. Syed Imam of Tirunelveli filed their nominations for Tirunelveli constituency.

K. Yugendran of Ilangulam filed his nomination for Nanguneri segment and Swami Subramanian of Palayamkottai filed his nomination for Palayamkottai constituency.

In Radhapuram constituency, S. Gurunathan of Thisaiyanvilai and T. Sugumar of Kooduthaazhai filed their nominations as the ‘actual’ and ‘dummy’ candidates of Pattali Makkal Katchi.

No nominations were made for Sankarankovil (reserved), Vasudevanallur (reserved), Tenkasi and Alangulam constituencies on Tuesday.

33 nominations

So far, 33 nominations have been filed for ten Assembly segments in the district till Tuesday.
