Elephant tramples man to death

A 60-year-old man was killed by a single-tusker here in Jawalagiri on Thursday.

The victim, R.Seneerappa of Agalakotta village, was riding on his two-wheeler from Jawalagiri to Chennambalam, when a tusker crossed his path.

Panicking, Seneerappa abandoned his vehicle and ran but the elephant hauled him and trampled him to death.

This is the second such casualty in Jawalagiri range and the fifth human casualty since the beginning of this year

Electrocuted

A 50-year-old man was electrocuted in Jawalagiri on Wednesday. Kariappa had accidentally touched a live wire over an overhead tank on Wednesday night.
