Electrician’s house burgled

Burglars stole Rs. 9 lakh-worth gold ornaments and silver articles from the house of an electrician at Kovilpatti on Wednesday night.

Police said unidentified burglars stole 35 sovereigns of gold ornaments and 1.50 kg silver articles from the house of S. Ganesh Raja (52) of Bharathi Nagar in Kovilpatti on Wednesday night.

The crime came to light when the family members woke up on Thursday morning.

Kovilpatti East police have registered a case.

Burglars also stole Rs. 20,000 from a matriculation school at Aththaikondan near Kovilpatti.
