The residents of Paramathivelur and the surrounding villages have urged the Forest Department to take steps to identify and drive away the wild animals, which destroyed the plantain crops in a vast area recently into the reserve forests.

The plantain trees in the farms in Tirumanimutharu were damaged by some wild animals. The pug marks of the animal with its baby are found in the farms. The animal was said to have visited the farms once again on Friday night.

The farm owners and the labourers have expressed apprehension in entering the farms. They have urged the forest department personnel to identify the wild animals and drive them away into the forests.
