Door-to-door verification of electoral rolls under way

S. Mani, who has been appointed by the District Collector as special officer for monitoring the work of strengthening the poll rolls in Salem North Assembly constituency, made door-to-door verification of the details furnished by the voters on Saturday.

About 270 officials are involved in the exercise of strengthening the details in electoral rolls in the Salem North constituency for the past one month.

Along with Aadhaar details, EPIC number, the receipt number provided during the census, proof for date of birth are being verified.

Mr. Mani has urged the voters to have the photocopies of all necessary documents required by the poll officials at the time of verification.

Those who had attained the age of 18 before December 31, 1996 could submit Form VI for enrolling their names in the electoral rolls. The special camp for the enrolment of new voters and making correction and changes will be held during the months of April and May, an official press release issued here said.
