Government doctors organised a human chain here on Saturday to demand continuance of the 50% reservation for them in postgraduate (PG) medical seats.

The human chain protest was held in front of the Government Vellore Medical College located in Adukkamparai, Vellore. The protesters wanted the existing 50 per cent reservation in Tamil Nadu for the serving government doctors in the PG seats to continue so that service of specialist doctors would be available to government hospitals and in effect to the poor and the needy.
