Do not allow footboard travel, drivers, conductors warned

With footboard travelling claiming the lives of four persons, including three students recently, the district administration has warned of action against the drivers and conductors of government and private buses and buses belonging to educational institutions.

Recently, three college students and a labour were killed after the private bus they were travelling in hit a stationary autorickshaw near Pallipalayam. It was found that all the four were travelling on footboard . The issue was discussed during the road safety meeting held here on Thursday. Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy said that action would be taken against the drivers and conductors of the buses concerned for allowing passengers to travel footboard.
