Demanding rollback of the hike in petrol price or at least a partial reduction in the quantum of increase, the DMK, a constituent of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime at the Centre, on Friday said that it would organise protests in all the districts on May 30.

The party would hold the protests in front of the collectorate or central government offices to condemn the Centre and the State government for the hike. A release from the DMK headquarters stated that the unprecedented hike had evoked stiff opposition from all corners of the country. People had launched protests everywhere.

Contending that the hike had come at a time when the people of Tamil Nadu were going through a difficult time , the DMK said that the Centre should withdraw it.
