The DMK has condemned AIADMK government and the Tiruvannamalai district administration for not inviting its MLAs to a meeting conducted at the Collectorate to review the drought mitigation works.
The DMK’s district executive committee meeting convened here on Sunday adopted a resolution, saying that its MLAs, who represent five constituencies in the district, were not invited while three AIADMK MLAs, including HR&CE Minister Sevur S. Ramachandran, were invited.
Another resolution said that information regarding funds allotted and works carried out to mitigate drinking water crisis in the district were not given to people or MLAs.
D. Venugopal, district presidium chairman of the DMK, presided over the meeting. Tiruvannamalai South district secretary E.V. Velu and party’s audit committee member K. Pichandi were present.
Other resolutions adopted at the meeting demanded the government to waive agriculture loans given by nationalised and cooperative banks. They also demanded the Centre to set up the Cauveri management board.
The meeting urged the State government to prevail upon the Centre to exempt Tamil Nadu from conducting NEET exam.
