The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has never said it will align with the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, DMK principal secretary and Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veeraswami said on Wednesday.

In a statement, Mr. Veeraswami said the DMDK leader had said that his party would not ally with the DMK or the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, both of which were described by Mr. Vijayakant as corrupt parties. Mr. Veeraswami criticised the DMDK founder for making a personal attack on DMK president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
