DMK general council meeting on Feb. 3

The ruling DMK in poll-bound Tamil Nadu will hold its general council on February 3.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s high command chaired DMK chief M Karunanidhi here today, a press release said.

The meeting also directed district secretaries of the party to take efforts to collect funds to meet expenses for the Assembly polls scheduled in May 2011, it said.

Mr. Karunanidhi and his partymen donated Rs 11 lakh even as the party collected over Rs 44 lakh today. His son and party Treasurer M K Stalin chipped in with Rs 1.17 lakh.
