DMK functionary murdered in Arumuganeri

Four members of a family were arrested here on Wednesday in connection with the murder of M. Kaamu alias Suresh (40), DMK town secretary of Arumuganeri.

He was murdered allegedly by the family on Monday night near Keela Navaladi Vilai in Arumuganeri.

The body and private parts were mutilated badly.

According to police, the family members murdered Suresh over a temple-related issue.

He also harassed the family often. Thirty-two cases, including five murder and nine attempts to murder, were booked against him.

The Goondas Act was also invoked against him on four occasions.

Based on a complaint lodged by K. Muthuramakrishnan (60), father of the deceased, the Arumuganeri police filed a case under Sections 147, 148, 294 (b), 302, 307 and 506 (ii) of the IPC.

The key accused R. Murugesan of Keela Navaladi Vilai is at large.
