DMK contributes Rs. 25 lakhs for Uttarakhand relief work

DMK leader M. Karunanidhi on Saturday announced Rs. 25 lakh for relief work in Badrinath and Kedaranath, following an open appeal by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

DMK MPs would also donate one month’s salary for the relief work, Mr. Karunanidhi said in a statement.

DMK Parliamentary Party leader T.R. Baalu met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and impressed upon him for immediate action. DMDK leader Vijayakant also announced Rs. 10 lakh for relief works.
