‘Digital India Programme will help engineering students’

The Digital India Programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will greatly benefit the engineering students with a world of job and business opportunities, according to D. Nobel Raj, Scientist-B, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Chennai.

Speaking at a seminar held in connection with Digital India Week Celebration organised by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India at the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology at Melvisharam recently, Mr.Raj said that the initiative aims at promoting digitalisation.

It would empower the citizens with the knowledge of the application of information and technology, he added.

“This celebration is a 3-pronged strategy to promote digital infrastructure, digital governance and digital empowerment, which would ensure India becoming a Super Power in the near future”, he said.

The NIELIT Scientist said that digitalisation meant hastening a wholesome development of India and its citizens thereby providing better services, facilities and governance.

Ram Prasad, College Chairman urged the students to exploit the emerging digital scenario in India for their development. K. Thamizharasu, College Principal participated. Lakshmi Priya, Head of the ECE Department welcomed the gathering.
