Dhayanidhi, son of Union Minister M.K. Alagiri, was interrogated in the multi-crore granite scam by the police on Thursday.

Accompanied by advocates, Dhayanidhi arrived at the District Police Office around 11.30 a.m. He was enquired in the chamber of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Myilvahanan, where the Deputy Superintendent of Police, A. Thangavel, who heads the special team probing the granite scam, was present. The interrogation was based on a questionnaire, containing over 150 questions, pertaining to his role in the Olympus Granites that had been charged with stealing granite from the quarries of the State-owned Tamil Nadu Minerals, police sources said. Dhayanidhi was a partner in Olympus Granites till 2010. The police have found a huge mismatch between the quantity of granite quarried by the company and the quantity of granite transported. The police said Dhayanidhi might have to appear again for enquiry.

The government had already challenged in the Supreme Court the anticipatory bail granted to Dhayanidhi by the High Court.
