Detained under Goondas Act

Five persons, who were arrested for murdering Sesuraj (49), a real estate owner in Tiruchengode, were detained under the Goondas Act.

Sesuraj was married to Latha and has two daughters.

On May 12, while he was on his way to Kozhikalnatham in his two-wheeler, an unidentified gang hacked him to death near Sengodampalayam and fled the scene.

A murder case and an attempt to murder case were pending against Sesuraj.

The police registered a case and arrested Pandu, Nagarajan, Maveeran, Ezhumalai and Magudeswaran. They were lodged at Salem Central Prison.

Inquiries revealed that many cases were pending against the accused.

Recommendations

Based on the recommendations of the Superintendent of Police V. Sasi Mohan, Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy ordered their detention under the Act.
