Department of Posts to conduct stamp design competition

The Department of Post is conducting a national-level stamp design competition on the theme ‘A Day in the Rains’ for children less than 18 years.

As part of Children’s Day 2015 celebrations, the competition is held across the country. Participants should submit original design drawn using ink, water colour, oil colour or any other medium. Computer print-outs are not allowed.

The design submitted should be such that can be depicted on the stamps in a visually appealing manner. Participants can use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of white paper of A4 size. Particulars that should be written legible on the reverse of the design are name, age, gender, nationality, complete residential address with pin code, phone or mobile number and e-mail id, if available.

An undertaking stating that “The artwork submitting is original and no copyright issues are involved’, should be sent along with the entry.

The design should be sent without being folded, through ‘Speed Post’ only, in A4 size envelope.

The participants should mention ‘Stamp Design Contest’ on the envelope.

Last date

Selected designs may be considered for use on stamps and other philatelic material. Prizes include first prize - Rs. 10,000, second prize – Rs. 6,000 and third prize – Rs. 4,000. Entries should be sent to ADG (Philately), Room No. 108 (B), Dak Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi – 110001 by August 31.
