Demanding withdrawal of cases filed against anti-Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project protestors, a demonstration was staged in front of old corporation building here on Sunday.

Led by Rev. Fr. Arimavalavan of Thamizhar Kalam, they raised slogans demanding the withdrawal of cases filed against the protestors. “As some of the protestors are facing sedition charges, they, if the charges are proved, may have to undergo even double life imprisonment. Hence, the State government should withdraw such cases filed against them, who are waging a battle against the KKNPP only in a peaceful manner,” said Rev. Fr. Arimavalavan.

Members of Coastal People's Federation, various fishermen and women's organisations participated in the agitation.
